Artist Statement

My artistic practice explores the relationship between calligraphy, emotion, movement, and the visual language of letters. With an educational background in fashion design and textile printing, I approach letters not only as written forms but also as visual elements capable of expressing feelings, memories, and inner experiences.

My work is rooted in the exploration of contemporary calligraphy, where traditional forms meet personal expression. I am particularly interested in the expressive potential of letters, the rhythm of lines, the interaction of colors, and the balance between structure and spontaneity. Through this approach, I seek to move beyond the literal meaning of written language and create a visual experience that invites viewers to connect with the work on an emotional and intuitive level.

Persian poetry, especially the mystical philosophy and poetry of Rumi, serves as an important source of inspiration in my artistic journey. His reflections on love, self-discovery, consciousness, and the human connection to the world encourage me to explore the unseen dimensions of language and emotion. Rather than simply illustrating words, I aim to translate their deeper meanings into visual compositions that communicate through gesture, rhythm, and form.

My background in textile printing and design has shaped my sensitivity to color, composition, repetition, and surface. These elements inform my artistic process and allow me to approach each work as a space for experimentation, where movement and stillness, control and freedom, and tradition and contemporary expression can coexist.

Through my practice, I hope to create works that transcend linguistic and cultural boundaries. I believe that letters can become a universal language when they are approached not only through reading but also through feeling. My intention is to invite viewers to pause, look beyond the surface, and discover their own interpretations and emotional connections within each piece.
